The Wobbegongs of Citrus Ridge
Citrus Ridge, a colorful spot in Raja center and undoubtedly one of the most magnificent. Hunting ground for the famous bearded Wobbegong shark (Eucrossorhinus dasypogon) better known as Wobbegong. Citrus Ridge remains one of the best spots to meet this prehistoric animal. Considered the most specialized member of his family, the ornate coloration of the wobbegong and its complex dermal fringe showcases its excellent camouflage. Completely immobile, his camouflage makes him practically invisible within the reef. This shark has a small home range with several favorite resting places that are used repeatedly. Slower than other related species, it is solitary and spends most of the day lying motion- less inside caves or under ledges with its curled tail.
