It is the feet in the water that I photographed this mangrove when the sun was close to the horizon.
Mangroves are exceptional biotopes. They contain an invaluable biodiversity. Serving as a nursery for fish, crabs and other crustaceans. It is a place very frequented by the birds who find there food and refuge. Fighting the natural erosion of soils, the mangrove also serves as a filter barrier that protects the lagoon. Mayotte, there are more than 700 hectares of Mangrove. At all costs, these wetlands, which are already under severe threat around the world, must be conserved.
